TCCC COVID-19 Update

March 23, 2020

Dear Twin Cities Christian Church Family,

Many years ago Bob Dylan penned the lyrics, “The times they are a changing” and in about a week’s time those lyrics have taken in a whole new meaning for America. With all the changes to our day to day routine, I find myself taking encouragement from Hebrews 13:8: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” We serve a Savior that remains unchanged and unaffected by whatever stroms life brings and it’s in Him that we find our strength.

We have just completed our first ever online service. I was encouraged to hear from our church family that you were blessed by it as well as people that have never attended worship with us. If you have yet to watch it you can still do so at www.twincitiescb.org by clicking the YouTube link at the top of the page and selecting the March 22nd playlist, or it can also be found on the Twin Cities Christian Church Facebook page.

As we began to navigate the new normal, a couple of questions have arisen from members and friends of the church. I’ll attempt to answer these.

*When do we get to return to normal activities? All in-person church activities are cancelled until further notice. We will be abiding by the Iowa Department of Public Health as to public gatherings in Iowa. No date for resumption of public gatherings has been given.

*How can I continue giving to TCCC? First, we understand some of our church families have been profoundly affected by the closure of businesses and incomes that have been cut. Please understand, it is the desire of the leaders at TCCC for you to attend to the financial needs of your family. For some, our jobs allow us to keep earning an income and we are able to continue giving. We believe God will supply all our needs! You may give by sending your check through the mail to Twin Cities Christan Church, 4220 Gifford Road, Council Bluffs, Iowa 51501. Mail will be checked and collected regularly. You may give online at www.twincitiescb.org by clicking the $ icon at the top of the page.

*How can I gather around the Lord's table with my family? TCCC believes in the importance of communion and would like to assist your family as you remember Christ's sacrifice for us. Friday, March 27, from 4-6pm we will be passing out individual communion elements as well as a guide to help your family as you observe the Lord's Supper together.

As we navigate this “new normal”, know that we are praying for you and long for the day when we can gather again in person. In the meantime, call someone on the phone, or use video calls like FaceTime, Zoom, or FaceBook Messenger with a group of people from TCCC . Send a card or letter to someone. I am proud to be a part of the church and I look forward to hearing all the ways TCCC church family members are being the church to those around us.

God Bless,
Matt Beckner
