3/19/20 COVID Update

March 19, 2020

Dear Twin Cities Church Family,

As we prepare for what could be an extended time away from our church family due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, I wanted to attempt to answer some questions being asked about what is happening at TCCC.

  • When will Sunday services/midweek gatherings resume? TCCC will be following the guidelines set by the Iowa Department of Public Health concerning when gatherings are deemed permissible.  At this time, all gatherings are indefinitely cancelled. We will update you when this changes.

  • What will we do in the meantime for church? We will be videoing a message to be shared via YouTube and Facebook each week. We are also exploring options for worship as well. For our first week, we will be providing links to YouTube worship videos.  Our intention is for sermons and worship videos to be posted by 10:30 a.m. Please bear with us as we navigate using technology in a new way to continue our mission of loving God, loving our neighbors, and making disciples.

  • What about summer ministry opportunities? At this point, Mega Sports Camp will be moved hopefully to late summer or early fall. We are not sure what will happen with camps, youth trips, missions trips, etc. We are still waiting to see how things unfold.  It is our desire to be able participate in all our previously scheduled activities, should the pandemic resolve and guidelines from the Iowa Department of Public Health change in time to allow adequate planning and preparation.

  • Will we still be giving to TCCC while we are not meeting? Absolutely, the good news is that the missions TCCC supports in America and abroad are still ongoing. These places need our gifts now more than ever. We will continue ministering here in Council Bluffs as well,  and are looking for places we can jump in and contribute to the needs of our community. It is also vital for our general church budget that giving continues, as general utilities, insurance, and salary obligations will still need met.

  • How can we give? You can give at by clicking the $ icon at the top of the page.  Gifts can be set up as one time or recurring. You may also mail a check to Twin Cities Christian Church, 4220 Gifford Road ,Council Bluffs, Iowa ,51501. Mail will be removed daily.  Whether you give online or through the mail, all gifts continue to be tax deductible.

  • While we wait to gather again what should we do as believers? First, be people of prayer. John 5:14 says, “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he will hear us.” Second, we must be the church.  This means giving to those who have need, getting groceries for the elderly or immune compromised so they don’t have to leave the house, and calling and checking in on those we know to see how they are doing.  One local group working to help families in need is Thriving Titans. Thriving Titans serves families with children in the Lewis Central School District by providing food and other essential items at no charge. You may drop off non-perishable food donations at Tastee Treat, 13996 Wabash Ave, Council Bluffs, Iowa,  51503.

Know this, the leaders of TCCC are praying for you! We believe that we will make it through this unprecedented time in history by God’s grace.   We look forward to seeing you when we meet again face to face!

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart exults, And with my song I shall thank Him.” Psalm 28:7

God Bless,
